When Unite & Conquer first began it was a tremendous endeavor of faith. We knew it was something that God had called us to do, and we knew that there was absolutely no way we could pull off something of this magnitude on our own. God had to provide, and we had to trust that He would.
That first year God not only gave us the vision, but He also gave us the dollar amount. The number $20,000 is what He had instructed to spend. I personally recall thinking how on Earth could I ever come up with that kind of money to finance this thing, but knowing the Lord would never say go without providing a way, we stepped out in faith. God did indeed provide. The first year was $20,000 and our God provided every penny. Since that first year Unite & Conquer has grown significantly and has now become $200,000 endeavor.
Unfortunately last year's sponsorship levels as well as attendance were down and when the event was over U&C was in the red. We have been working diligently to pay off the shortfall and we are well on our way to achieving that goal; however, even if that goal is obtained by September, there are no resources to allow us to prepare for the event for this year. After much prayer and debate and looking at several alternatives, the Unite & Conquer board has determined that the best course of action at this time is to skip the festival this year.
We do hope that smaller events throughout the year continue to present themselves and that next year the festival will be back stronger than ever. Please continue to keep Unite & Conquer and its board members and volunteers in your prayers, and hopefully soon we will be gearing up for the next show soon.
